Dream House Nears Completion At High Peak New Build

Our client is thrilled.

We’re moving into the final stages of our new build project at Whaley Bridge near Stockport – the one which three other builder developers branded as ‘unbuildable’!

Tucked away on a steep hill almost at the end of a private lane, granted, the job has had its challenges! Not least, getting the materials on site and managing the drainage. But the team at Mode are natural-born problem solvers and relished the opportunity to deliver the project our client had set their heart on. And of course, as quality house builders, we didn’t just want to build the house, we partnered with the architects to finesse all aspects of the construction.

The building has a stunning double-storey vaulted roof giving it an art-gallery feel. With full-width split-level living and kitchen areas and a stunning feature oak staircase, the house is as unique as it is crafted. Unusually, and at the client’s specific request, it has one bedroom, but it has been designed so as to ensure that a full, first floor can be retrofitted with minimal challenge, should a future owner desire.

What’s more, with triple glazing, Kingspan insulation, and passive purple to all the external walls this house is designed to the highest standards. The things you cannot see such as the pipes and wiring have all been installed to reduce energy consumption, including a mechanical heat & ventilation system, underfloor heating and LED light system throughout. This is an eco-house where the smallest detail has been held to the highest standards.

Brendan Dooley, founder and Managing Director of Mode Projects, says:
“One of the great joys of being a new house builder is seeing a client’s reaction as their dream house rises out of the ground and comes to life. So, although we’re builders, we’re actually creating spaces for future enjoyment, where memories will be created and our clients can feel truly at home. At Mode, we think that makes finding solutions to the challenges that come with projects like this, all the more worthwhile.”

The inclined, sweeping driveway with a turning area will soon be created, along with the extensive landscaped garden area. This means, with a good wind, the next big decision for the client will be, “Where do I put the Christmas Tree?”
